Fellow Vampyres:

As many of you may already know, I have finally created an antidote to this living death. I myself quite enjoy this lifestyle, thus I shall be giving away the concoction. Unfortunately, there is only one sample in existence; the used materials are either too rare or now extinct.

What is the price you ask? Well, no amount of money will do. No, rather, what of a contest?

The goal: lure a mortal into falling in love with you, and the catch? Don't fall in love yourself.

Slayers...


These three "races" have been living alongside each other for hundreds of years,
and nothing has ever been quite thrown out of balance...until now.

One decade ago, a mysterious vampire known only as "the Barron"
started sending out messages to his kind. It would not always be in the form of a
letter either; sometimes it came as a mere scrap of used tissue on the wind. The
messages were always the same and came every year without fail. It
seemed that nobody could step up to his challenge and succeed.

Of course, the slayers found out immediately and began an obsessive labor of
defense to protect the humans from this vampire's twisted idea of a game. But
victims of either love or death, they too began disappearing at an alarming rate.

Vampires began hunting much more often, trying to find some foolish female or
male and take them to the Barron for the antidote. But unable to control themselves,
they either ended up killing the human or developing affections for them.

At this same time, the Barron took over the High Council, eliminating all of the Elder
vampires and gaining significant control over the entire race. He appointed new council
members to serve beneath him. None of them have ever seen his face.

A group of slayers, known as the Resistance, are now conspiring to kill the Barron
and take the antidote for mass production using their latest technology. If they can
get their hands on it, then they can extinguish the vampire race forever. But the
only way to gain access to the Barron is through a vampire...

All the while, the humans are being kept in the dark, completely oblivious. Even so,
the murders and disappearances have forced country-wide curfews to be established.
Most are indoors by 9 P.M., if not earlier.

Vampires are flocking to New York where rumors have it that
the Barron lives on the quaint, little street of Claret Boulevard in Claret Manor. Following
suit, the Resistance has also set up an outpost near Claret Manor to keep a wary eye
on him.

So?

Will you be part of the Resistance? Maybe a vampire loyal to the Barron? Or will you
try to step up to his challenge? Nevertheless, the Barron will be waiting.

Current Subplots

This thread will be updated as the story moves along, to incorporate where we have taken the role play. There is something for every faction. Keep these in mind when creating new characters!

Mortals:

A group of students and paranormal enthusiasts have begun to notice patterns in rising deaths and the curfew. They begin to extrapolate what could possibly do such things to the populace, and start forming neighborhood watch to try to exterminate the threat in their own way. Their leader is an adoptable character.

Vampires:

The Council is actively seeking new members. Meanwhile, Council Member Desmond LaRue’s odd relationship with a known - and highly dangerous - Slayer, Kathleen O’Connell, has been getting more and more attention in vampire circles. And not everyone is happy about it.

Slayers

The Resistance has sent one of their agents on a deep-cover mission to take the next step in getting the "Cure" from the Barron. They are effectively sending their agent into her death. Most of the Resistance isn’t in on the secret, but Special Agent O’Connell’s “death” is bound to raise some suspicion...

The Outpost is officially set up and open for business. There are regular watches on the Barron's supposed estates.
